Weekly Reading Update

Here's what I've been reading...

Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren | IN PROGRESS

Great news—I actually picked this one back up! It’s very cute, and there was even a scene that reminded me so much of the movie Tangled.

I’m really liking the dynamic between Ren and Fitz. Ren is so sweet, innocent, and gullible. Fitz may have led a privileged life, but it’s been a hard one nonetheless. And as much as he fights it, he wants to help Ren and keep her safe. They’re very cute together.

I’m hoping to finish this one very soon…

But I keep saying that, and yet—here we are.

Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead by Elle Cosimano | FINISHED

This was really good! I think I preferred the first one just a little, but the amount of time that’s passed between reading them probably plays a role in that.

I’ve been doing mostly audio with this series, and the narrator is so good! She nails all the various accents and character voices flawlessly.

I was a little disappointed with where the romance went in this one, but I have a feeling there’s more to the story when it comes to one of the love interests. So, we’ll see what happens in the next one!

Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun | IN PROGRESS

One thing I love about this series is that each book picks up right where the previous one left off.

I think I’m about 25% into this one, and I’m really liking it so far. I have some theories on who they’re looking for, and I gotta say... I hope I’m wrong. I think there’s a very small chance I’m right, but after the ending of the last book, that chance is definitely not zero.

A Love Like the Sun by Riss M. Neilson | IN PROGRESS

I hate to call it a DNF—I think of it more as "putting it down indefinitely." I really don’t know why I wasn’t gravitating toward this. In theory, it has all the makings of a book I’d love, but I simply wasn’t picking it up.

There’s a chance I’ll try again in the future, but for now, it was time to set it aside.
